Brian John Nadurak
Brian Nadurak is a classically trained artist, who began in representation and hyperrealism before traversing an emotionally-charged landscape of mixed-media abstraction. His work is fraught and beautiful, complex and direct. His is an original and watchful eye on the human condition.
At 6, his great uncle Helmut Mueller - a landscape painter from Germany, introduced Brian Nadurak to the world of art. Under his mentorship, Nadurak drew charcoal portraits by 8. Throughout his childhood, he delved into mediums of all kinds, oil, watercolor, gauche, pastel, eventually leaving his private instruction for the Alberta College of Art. There, and later at the prestigious Art Center in Los Angeles, he discovered the work Robert Rauschenberg, Wassily Kandinsky, Picasso, Franz Kline and Motherwell. It was a turning point for Nadurak whose distinctive creative voice was unleashed by the wild, interpretive nature of these modern masters.
Today, Nadurak lives in Dallas, TX and is an accomplished painter whose work has been shown at galleries around the country, in group and solo exhibitions. His large-scale work draws largely from personal experiences and current events.
